Homophobic Chicken

(Credit: someecards.com)

A few days ago, Chick fil A CEO, Don Cathy, came out against gay marriage.  I liked this place up until then.  It seemed like such a “Better than a Big Mac” fast food place when I needed a quick meal for the kids.  Not anymore. Can’t they have just followed the “don’t ask don’t tell” rule about being homophobic? I really liked the golden fried chicken goodness and the fact they served Coke Zero.  I guess I should have known their backwards ways by the Styrofoam cups.

  1. My sister and I usually love stopping into a Chick-fil-A in Atlanta, ground zero for Chick-fil-A. It was already hard enough to have to deal with the “closed on Sundays” dogma, which may very well appeal to a certain segment of the population, but means fuck all to the rest of us. But now with the CEO’s gay hating on record, it’s hard to see how we’ll be visiting again. One, because that’s not cool. And two, because my sister is gay.

Of course, there won’t be any substantial decline in revenue for Chick-fil-A, because the gay-hating religious bigots will just throw more money at the chain and their newly professed message of non-welcome.

Southern hospitality, indeed. More like, “we don’t like your kind around here.”

The best outcome for this, however is that Chick-fil-A has steadily been moving north and west, expanding their sphere of influence. After the CEO’s message, places which had been considering approval of new Chick-fil-A locations have changed their minds, and we can only hope more will continue to say no. You know, to let them know they’re not welcome.

Also, as a money saving tip, I prefer Popeye’s chicken biscuits. They taste better and they’re cheaper. Just sayin’. And of course the legendary Popeye’s biscuits and sweet tea.

    • I read someone put in a huge order at the drive through, then gave them a piece of his mind at the window. Obviously, not taking the order. Though I don’t condone wasting food, I can hardly blame him for lashing out.
